GCSS Partners with Local Organizations on Business Buddies Program

On Friday, Sept. 22, a number of local businesses and organizations presented several books to first-graders at Altama Elementary School as part of their kickoff to the newly-created Business Buddies program.

With support from the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, Rich Products, King & Prince Seafood, MAP International, Golden Isles, Southeast Georgia Health System, Golden Isles Development Authority and the Marshes of Glynn Libraries, this program will provide virtual mentorship and online tutoring opportunities each week to support first-grade students as they grow and engage in literacy.

At the kickoff event, students met their mentors, received books and developed new relationships.
